Reception Class
Welcome to our Reception class page.
In Early Years we place each child at the centre of their learning. We understand that every child is a unique individual with their own skills and talents and we provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment where all children grow and flourish.
At St Teresa's, learning and development in Reception takes place through a wide range of adult-directed and child-initiated activities. Learning through play and first hand practical experiences provide the children with the opportunity to develop in all seven areas of learning. We currently provide a rolling program of topics throughout the Nursery and Reception classes and parents are encouraged to support their children with the learning. We incorporate the children's interests and ideas within the planning to provide personalised learning experiences.
The foundation stage classes are adjacent to each other and we have a shared outdoor area where all of the foundation stage children can learn together.
By the end of Reception we will have developed and extended the children's knowledge, independence, confidence and we aim to instill a love of learning ready for them to embark on the next stage of their journey.
